If you're a man and into the phrase "don't fix it until it's broken," you could be putting yourself at harm by not seeking regular checkups and preventative measures, according to research from the UK.
Researchers there say that "macho men" attitudes preclude many men from checking in with their doctors at certain ages instead of being scared about possible symptoms -- and even entering the doctor's office to have things checked out.
While it's good to be masculine and have that attitude (if it suits you), preventative measures against possible cancer (even with symptoms) are prudent regardless, right? It's only your life.
