Survival pancreatic cancer improved

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most dangerous types, it's symptoms being very hard to recognize. That is why it has a very high mortality rate.

The Journal of Clinical Oncology, an online publication found that adding Tarceva(erlotinib) to Gemzar(gemcitabine) can improve the chances of survival.

The one-year study showed that, from the 569 patients, those treated with the new-found combination had a better chance of survival, 23% remaining alive and also stabilizing their disease, opposed to only 13%  of those who were treated with Gemzar and a placebo.

Hopefully, a great treatment or even cure will be found for this disease.
